I am so glad you wrote about this. It is amazing how many women (and a few men, too) are trying to deal with depression. If more of us (yes! me too!!) didn't feel like we can't talk about it, like we are "faking" for the sake of doing nothing, then I think maybe life would feel better.
Of course, the number one demon in depression is the need to fold within oneself.

I love you anyways, but this post just warmed my heart even more. I felt like you were writing from inside my head. I am giggly, bubbly and LOVE being in the middle of a fun and upbeat party. But - like you - when alone I am bombarded with "you suck" thoughts and feeling like "ugh, whatever." I got some pills and they seemed to help but I think I need to talk to a counselor.

Lately I've vacillated between wanting to crawl into bed or step into traffic. While most of my depression stems from situational stress (being fired, opening a bakery), I still have moments of weakness. I think with the more we have available to us, the easier it is to let those helpful things break us down.

I relate to this in every single way and every word. I have been in that "pit" as I call it and now on the other side of it. (Most days- ha!) So thankful to God for freedom and friends and grace and mercy and wonderful doctors and everything else He measures out to us as His children. Here's to 2012!!!
